The Birthplace Of Shakespeare

The area, which is called the birthplace of Shakespeare, is located between London and Birmingham, 150 km from the British capital. This area, including the hometown of Shakespeare Stratford-on-Avon, Warwick castle and the former Royal resort of lemington is interesting not only for fans of the great poet, but also for everyone who wants to see and feel the real life of the English province with its age-old foundations. The center of the historic district – Stratford – has not changed much since 1564, when the house of the local glove John Shakespeare was born the first of his eight children, named William. The house of John Shakespeare, which became a Museum 200 years ago, is perfectly preserved. Continue reading

Eisteddfod is purely a Welsh invention, which gives all travelers a mystical experience. The word Eisteddfod means “meeting of the bards”, and traditionally Eisteddfod was a competition associated with the poetry and music. Eisteddfod the first was held in 1176. However, the popularity of these events fell after the XVII century, when they began to cause rage among strict nonconformist Protestants. In 1860, to resume the old tradition was established by the National Society Eisteddfod, and currently three major Eisteddfod and several local and regional scale. Another heritage of Welsh culture, leading traditions from the mining communities of South Wales, are male choirs. The choirs are based on Methodism, and their repertoire is rich in hymns and other solemn works.
